Summit Springs Church

Our Leadership

Senior Pastor & Elder, Tom and Georgiann Manz

Pastor Tom and his wife, Georgiann have served in church leadership for over 40 years. Pastor Tom experienced a radical life change when he came into relationship with Christ while serving in the Navy off the coast of Vietnam in 1971.

He was discipled by a group of dedicated men who modeled for him what it means to be a whole-hearted follower of Christ. He soon became the leader of the Christian group on his ship which he led for the next two years.

Pastor Tom graduated from Central Bible College in Springfield, MO, and has had a life-long passion for teaching the Word of God and leading the local church. He also enjoys having the opportunity to train men and women in discipleship and leadership.  He is Vice-President of the Midwest Ministers’ Fellowship which provides a place for pastors to connect and to help churches in crisis.

The teaching of God’s Word is of great importance to us here at Summit Springs. Pastor Tom is known for his gift of teaching that brings the truths from the pages of the Bible to real life application.

One of Pastor Tom's most popular Series is, Revelation Revealed, His Glorious Kingdom, which is a 15-part, verse by verse study through the Book of Revelation. Click here to view this Series

Georgiann has a great love for the local church and the family of God.  She enjoys leading the women’s ministry, teaching Bible studies, and keeping the church family connected overseeing the church website, newsletter, and social media.

The Manz’ are blessed with a wonderful family consisting of their two children and six “amazing” grandchildren.

Worship Leaders, Chris and Darla Mentesana

Chris and Darla have been involved in Worship ministry since 1999. They have a passion for genuine heartfelt worship that will lead people to experience the presence and power of a living God. They home-schooled their four children and now have five grandchildren. They are blessed with a musical family – Chris having taught their boys to play the bass guitar and drums and who are now involved in worship ministry as well as other areas of ministry.

Chris also serves as an elder at SSC.  He is a graduate from UMKC with a degree in business.

In addition to worship ministry, Darla directs the SSC children’s ministry department, coordinates special events, and oversees the coffee bar ministry.

Mike and Ann Collier

Mike serves as an elder at SSC and he and Ann oversee the hospitality ministries. They have two sons and (so far) four beautiful grandchildren. Mike has a master’s degree in business from Baker University. He and Ann assist the church in many areas of ministry and will be some of the first smiling faces you see when you enter the doors of Summit Springs.

Youth Ministry, Noah Mentesana and Victoria Owen

Noah and Victoria team up to direct the youth ministry at SSC.  They have done an amazing job this past year creating a thriving student ministry that meets twice monthly for fellowship and Bible study, and in addition provide fun events throughout the year.

Noah also overseas the video and technical areas of our church ministries and is frequently called upon to “problem solve.”

Victoria is a graduate of MCC, Blue River and is currently taking classes to be certified in Personal Training and Nutrition.  She is also Miss Jackson County USA, 2022.

Summit Springs Church Elder Team
Pastor Tom, Chris Mentesana, and Mike Collier

Summit Springs Church is lead by a Council of Elders from our local church who provide accountability and assist the pastoral staff in all areas of church oversight. In Biblical church eldership, as described in I Timothy 3, elders are responsible for establishing doctrine and church policies and provide care for the church family.
