Do You Know God?

Ever wonder why Jesus Christ came to earth, lived a sinless life, but suffered a brutal death on the cross? The coming of Jesus and what He did for us on the cross was prophesied in Isaiah 53 hundreds of years before He came – that He would be despised, rejected, and give His life – the atonement for the sins of mankind.

John 3:16 tells us, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”  What Jesus did on the cross He did for everyone who would believe in Him and receive His sacrifice as payment for our sins.

Whatever lifestyle we have led in the past, whatever sins we have committed, we are promised new life in Christ – “old things pass away, behold, all things are becoming new.” (II Corinthians 5:17) We are also promised, “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.” (Psalm 103:12) In Christ, we have blessed assurance that our sins can be forgiven and remembered against us no more. He came to set the captives free! (Isaiah 53:5; Luke 4:18)

God is faithful and His forgiveness is full and complete and available to all who will come to Him.
If you have never made Jesus the Lord of your life, there is a simple prayer you can say to receive God’s forgiveness and begin a new life in Christ:

"Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for me. I come to you, asking that you forgive me for my sins. I want to be made new in You. Thank you, Lord, for cleansing me and making me a new creature in Christ and I will follow You all the days of my life."

(I Corinthians 6:11; I John 1:9; Revelation 3:20, 22:17) (I Corinthians 6:11; I John 1:9; Revelation 3:20, 22:17

If you prayed that prayer and meant it, you have been born again and are now a child of God! (Romans 10:9) You might not feel any different, but the gospel is about facts not feelings. If you have put your faith in Christ, then you have been forgiven and He has come into your life!

What Next?.........

There are four things that will help you know God and have a relationship with Him –

  • Read the Bible – we suggest starting with the Gospel of John.
  • Pray – talk to God every day.  He wants to meet with you and speak to you!
  • Attend a Bible-teaching church – fellowshipping with other believers makes us stronger.
  • Share – let others know what God has done in your life.

We would be so happy to pray with you, or answer any questions you may have.
